Where to see CHRISTMAS LIGHTS in Utah!

If you live in Utah and are a fan of WONDERFUL Christmas Light displays here is a list for you! I have not been to all of them but I think I am going to make the rounds up near where I live! I did hit the Hogle Zoo lights last night for $3 Thursday (vouchers can be picked up at any Wendy's). 


FREE Light Displays

  • Temple Square - This beautiful light display is a Holiday tradition and known world wide.
    The 
    lights are on until New Year's Eve and there are free concerts in the Assembly Hall and North Visitor Center every evening until late December. Check events HERE.
  • Gardner Village  - Don't forget to print off an Elf Scavenger Hunt before you go! 
  • Valley Fair Mall - Three different songs are synced to the Christmas light show, shows begin at 5 pm and runs at the beginning and end of each hour until 10 pm.
  • The Gateway Mall - lights are synchronized with music and the Olympic Legacy Fountain, shows begin on the hour, every hour from 5 to 8 pm, through January 1
  • Frosty's Winter Wonderland - 805 E. 18th Avenue, SLC, 6-11 pm
  • Christmas Street in Taylorsville - This is a residential street where neighbors have come together to recreate the famous poem "A Visit From Saint Nicholas" (better known as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas"). 
  • City Creek, enjoy beautiful lights while shopping, get a text when it's your turn to see Santa so you don't have to wait in line!
  • The Shops at the Riverwoods  , Enjoy the gorgeous light displays and treat the kids to Christmas S'mores for $1! 4801 N. University Ave., Provo, UT {pictured above}
  • Christmas Street in Sugarhouse, every house in the cul-de-sac is decorated with lights and decorations
  • Neff Circle, East Millcreek, lights are coordinated to music (lasts for 5 songs)
  • Bible Street, Blaine Ave and Wilson Ave, SLC, each house displays scripture verses from Luke 2, telling the story of the nativity
  • Provo Winterfest, there are tons of lights in downtown Provo each night, tons of activities on New Year's Eve too
  • Salem Pond, lit Christmas trees in the water, 6-10 pm each night until January 2
  • Christmas Village, downtown Ogden, Christmas lights and cottages designed to look like Santa's village at the North Pole, can also see Santa at his castle each evening
  • Winder Lane, after viewing all of the homes that are lit up, you can stop at the Winder Farms store at the end of the lane to buy egg nog, hot chocolate and scones, Santa is there on Thursdays from 6-8
  • Tooele Lights on 1310 Three neighbors decorate their homes with more than 70,000 lights to synchronized music. Runs 5:30pm to 10pm Sunday thru Thursday and 5:30 to 11pm Friday and Saturday. Santa pays a vist on Friday and Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm. 426 E 1310 N. 
  • Lehi Sorensen home, There are 100,000 lights in the Sorensen family Christmas light display.
  • Grand America Enjoy the Grand America’s lighting display, holiday windows and gingerbread house. Also, follow the whimsical displays in their retail windows for a special surprise awaiting children once they complete their journey. Last year we picked up a form at the front desk and received a yummy sugar cookie after we completed our journey through the window displays. 
  • Jingle Bus – a holiday themed ride circulating between The Gateway, Temple Square,
    Gallivan Plaza & City Creek Center. This is a FREE ride and it runs from 5 – 10 pm, 7 days a week, courtesy of the SLC Downtown Alliance.
  • Utah Governor’s Mansion Tours – The Governor’s Mansion is decorated for the holidays and FREE tours are available on Tuesdays & Thursdays in December from 2-4 pm. 
  • Ogden City Christmas Village - which lights up a Christmas village each year. The Opening Ceremony is held Saturday, November 30 with the Electric Light Parade that fills Washington Blvd from 22nd Street to 26th Street. The parade is full of elaborate floats, sensational themes, and fantastic performers.

Displays that Cost $:

  • Hogle Zoo - See the Zoo Lights from 5:30-8 or 9pm daily. $7 adults, $5 kids, 2 and under are free. NOTE:  Thursdays are only $3 with a voucher you can get from any Wendy's register. One voucher is good for up to 6 people.
  • Heritage Park- Candlelight Christmas, 6-9pm, $10 for adults, $5 for kids, 2 and under are free
  • Thanksgiving Point, 6-10pm daily, $8 per car
  • Spanish Fork Festival of Lights, 6-10pm daily, $7 per car
  • Fantasy at the Bay, Willard Bay State Park- 5:30-10:30pm daily, $10 per car
  • The St. George Tuacahn has a Live Nativity includes real live camels, and beautiful costumes. Cost is $2 per person or $15 per family. There is also a Christmas in the Canyon (light display) that is FREE.
  • Heber Valley North Pole Express – board this fun Christmas themed train and enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, choirs, a visit from Santa, and lighted houses as you travel to the North Pole. Prices range from $15-$47 depending upon the time of day and the seats you select. Runs November 29 – December 24.
