This simple project is even easy enough for children!
My three oldest kids (ages 6, 9, and 10.5) were able to make these poms with only a few verbal instructions. I was quite impressed with their finished products.
I love these tissue poms because they are kid friendly, inexpensive, simple, and high impact.
How to make your Valentine Poms
You will need: Tissue Paper, scissors, and string.
1. Stack 8-12 sheets of tissue paper and cut to a square shape. The size square is entirely a matter of preference. The larger the square, the larger the pom--and visa versa.
4. If you want to vary the look of the outside edge of your pom, experiment with snipping the two short ends of the folded tissue strip. You can curve the ends, cut a triangle into them, or a random zig zag. Whatever you choose.
5. Beginning at the center, carefully pull apart the individual sheets of tissue paper on each side of the knotted string.
Halfway through, turn your pom over and pull the tissue sheets apart in the other direction. This will transform your tissue paper into a spectacular three dimensional sphere!
