My kidlets love to discover little notes I've written for them when they return home from school.
Sometimes I place a note on their pillow, sometimes I stick one to their mirror, and other times I am tricky and hide one in the book they are reading. Occasionally, I will leave a sticker, a bookmark, or a little piece of candy.
The notes are not elaborate but they are always positive and they always say 'I love you".
One day it may be a note of thanks or appreciation for something they were helpful with. Another day it may mention something they are doing well or improving. One time it was a note apologizing for losing my patience. :)

My kids are very fond of love notes. I have found saved notes in their jewelry boxes, treasure drawers, and taped to the back of their bedroom door. For a time, one daughter's love note collection was arranged on her bookshelf as if they were little framed pictures.
The notes tend to produce such enthusiasm that occasionally I discover a secretly placed love note of my own---complete with lopsided hearts, swirly phonetic spelling, and lots of XOXOs!
These little love notes take so little effort and yet the smiles they produce are big!

Such a simple idea that expresses so much. I need to do this now with my husband!
